Dr. Apostle Ivan V. Scott, Sr., 57, of Dale City, VA, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was a native of Nansemond County (Suffolk), VA, and was the son of the late James & Almeda Scott. He was preceded in death by his brothers Reginald Scott and Willie "June" Perkins. Ivan graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1978. In the fall of 1978, he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm). While serving in the Marine Corps, he met the love of his life Sharon Scott, and after dating for 6 years, found her to be his one true love, and they were married for 27 years. Ivan was the proud father of three children: Carlton Hogan, Ivan V. Scott, Jr., and Ivory Scott. Following the war, Ivan worked at the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 2016 from both the Postal Service and Marine Corps. Ivan answered the call to ministry in 1995, and in 2003 became the Sr. Pastor and founder of Spirit of the Lord Worship Deliverance & Healing Centers, Int'l. Apostle Scott received a doctorate in Theology from H.E. Wood Bible Institute. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Sharon Scott; three children, Carlton Hogan (Takeysha), Ivan Scott, Jr. (Te'Kisha), and Ivory Scott; six grandchildren, Carlton Hogan, Jr., Carlton Hogan III, Arianna Scott, Carlton Hogan IV, Cheyenne Hogan, and Talia Scott; Sisters, Bonita Knight (Gene), Angela Scott, and Jacqueline Robinson; nieces, Tilkelia Robinson and Chasity Burnette; nephew, Tony Robinson; aunts, Bertha Powell, Ruth Hairston, Louise White, Annie Buie, Catherine Peterson, Margenia Hall; uncles James Stagg, and James Myrick, and a host of relatives and friends.
